Glossary added
Sunday, June 29 2008 - 05:16
We have added a glossary to our resources area. It is a combination of traditional publishing and printing terms, marketing terms, internet terms and accounting terms.

At 32 pages it is still not a comprehensive list of all the terms you will come across but we hope that it will make publishing easier.

Did you know that ABA is the acronym for Australian Booksellers Association and the American Booksellers Association.

Back list is previously published books that are still in print and available as opposed to the front list of recently published books.

CiP stands for Catalogue-in-Publication. This is the bibliographic information supplied by the National Library of Australia or the Library of Congress USA. This enable libraries to file the books correctly.

ISBN stands for the International Standard Book Number. A unique number provided by Bowker and assigned to the publisher that identifies the binding, edition and publisher of the book. This enable any bookshop in the world to find your book.

At the bottom of this list I have included a few other internet address when glossaries are located.

If you find that I have missed any internet terms please email us and make a suggestion.

Thanks

Leona
